This presumed 5 year deal will be longer than any he signed in Cleveland.

Cavs potentially getting two first rounders and two second rounders in a S&T. I guess that's as good as they're going to get. Nothing like the #30 pick in the draft year after year.

I'm having a hard time linking it, but if you haven't heard the interview yet with Joe Tait, you should listen to it. Unreal. I know that the Spurs players, including Timmy and Tony go grab food with Schoening all the time. Kind of unbelievable.

Is it true Lebron never granted an interview to the local Cleveland media?

This is an incredibly damning article. However, the more I think about it, I'm not really mad about the decision itself (furious over how he pulled it off), but more saddened that he probably is the most talented basketball player of all time and yet, he'll never achieve the status or even be in the discussion of G.O.A.T. thanks to this. As sports fans, i think we like to see athletes do amazing things that we've never seen before. Why else would we care about swimming unless Michael Phelps is going to 23 gold medals in the olympics? Why else would we care about cycling unless Lance is going for his 8th Tour D'France? Why else would we care about an opening round tennis match unless it went 10 hours? We were even willing to look past Sammy Sosa's atrocious bacne during the Summer of '98. LeBron James had a legitimate chance (and I suppose, still does technically) of being the Best Ever. Yes, even better than Michael Jordan. If he had won, say, 3 championships in Cleveland while winning 3 more MVPs, the discussion would have been arguable. And I think sports fans, not just Cleveland fans and not just NBA fans, would have enjoyed watching that. Now that's not going to happen. He could win 5 championships in Miami as Wade's sidekick and it won't make a difference: he'll never be in the discussion for Best Ever. And sports fans will have to look for Greatness elsewhere.

Predictably, every single ESPN column is defending LeBron James. Every column found elsewhere, not so much.
So glad we have the Internet.

Welcome to your new life, Lebron. Always in the background from Wade.

I loved the scenario on Simmons' podcast today with the 'what if' situation of Lebron getting a season ending injury and the Heat still win the championship.

As everyone else is pointing out, Lebron has a forced smile on his face. I wonder if he doesn't hate being in the background.
Love it.
