You know what's a shame: this was the perfect year for a non-QB, non-RB MVP. There was a wealth of good candidates from the "non-skill plus WR" positions and not a lot of compelling cases in the QB/RB department.
So they don't know what to do so they just give it to Peyton Manning. He's kind of the "none of the above" choice. Or maybe the "aww fuck it, I've got dinner plans, just put Peyton" choice.
