I thought Denver was stupid for firing Shanahan.
I thought they were doubly stupid when they announced the situation was irreparable and Cutler was going to be traded.
Then they got two first rounders, a third rounder, and Kyle Orton. And now I think they come out of this smelling like roses.
If Cassell is worth only a high second rounder - you're telling me Cutler is worth three first-day picks and a QB might not be terrible? And what could the Browns have squeezed from Derek Anderson a year ago - 24 years old and coming off a pro-bowl year?
I'm still not sure Chicago even makes the playoffs next year.

I think Chicago wins. Denver has no QB. It'll be between Simms and Orton. They don't even have a QB who can manage. There aren't any guarantees about the first rounders even panning out.
Chicago has the D, now they have QB in arguably the worst division in football (maybe tied with AFC West).
I don't think the trade was lopsided, but I think Chicago comes out on top.

Regardless of who you think came out on top, we can agree that Cutler is miles ahead of Orton? And that McDaniels and him would have been a great fit (allegedly)?

I suppose. I guess I'm not totally convinced Orton is terrible. He never had any kind of receiving corps. Now Cutler won't either.
Also, I think the Chicago defense isn't that good. Without looking at the numbers, I want to say they're the second worst in the division.
