It's time to go ahead and put the fork in them.
From the AP recap of last night's Cavs win:
"The 34-year-old Wallace scored just five points, looking past his prime, banged up and uninterested."
That about sums up that team.
Though they did win a championship, they should probably be remembered as the Dynasty That Wasn't. Starting with the Darko pick and ending with the Billups trade, they've been extremely mismanaged. Dumars squandered a talented, well-constructed, if not particularly likable, team.
Still, I'll always be thankful they gave us the epic game in 2007 known as "The Lebron Game.

The Darko pick was the most baffling pick of my 30 years on earth. Lanky Europeans should never be your franchise guy. I mean, it wasn't as if nobody was saying Wade or Anthony or Bosh was better. EVERYONE was saying it. I remember it well. I think Mark Stein of ESPN loved Darko, but the majority of writers out there thought it was a mistake.
Unforgivable blunder for a supposed wunderkind GM like Dumars.
