He HAS to be better than any QB on the Vikes right now, right?

But wait guys, didn't you read what Favre said? "I am retired and have no intention of returning to football."

wasn't he supposed to be some sort of QB consultant for the Browns?

Krall, you do not want the NFL's all-time interception leader mentoring Brady Quinn. Just like I do not want him in Minnesota.

Favre to meet with ChildressUgh...I know we need a big season to get a new stadium and keep the team in Minnesota, but this really reeks of making a deal with the devil. And the devil is notorious for forcing the ball into bad situations. Sometimes needlessly.

Grant, you do not want the NFL's all-time interception leader quarterbacking your team. Just like I do not want him in Cleveland.

I'd love to see Favre in Pittsburgh - as the opposing team's qb.

That division blows. Even a broken down, washed up Favre could win.

From Don Banks:
So let me get this straight: Favre still has a partially torn biceps in his throwing arm, hasn't worked out at all this offseason, turns 40 in October, and lost four of his final five starts last season, throwing nine interceptions, two touchdowns, with a passer rating of 55.4?
Yeah, I can see why the Vikings would jump all over him.

On Sportscenter this morning they had a comparison of the last five regular season games of the 2008 season for Favre and Tavaris. Favre threw 2 TDs and 7 ints while Jackson threw 6 TDs and 1 int. (numbers might be wrong. it was 5:30 AM, but the idea is there)

I will see the upside in this as best I can (it is fun to stick it to Green Bay and most of Wisconsin). But I'm going record before anything happens- Brett will cost Minnesota games with an untimely turnover, and I don't think we get past the divisonal round with him at the helm. If we have Rosenfels it might be better, might be worse, but I'm calling my shot- Brett won't get the Vikes to the title game.
I'm also going on record that if we get Brett he'll choke away the Green Bay game in the Metrodome.

I don't really understand why they need Favre. They have AD, and a good defense. You just need one of those dreaded "game managers." Which Favre is NOT. He relishes the gunslinger role. There's no way he can hand off to Peterson 25 times a game.
