apparently, the Pioli front is moving rather quickly now that Cowher is out.
Parcells is suddenly a "free agent" too. Yikes.

Kirk Ferentz is your man!! If he can take the Iowa Hawkeyes to the Watchamacallit Bowl, just think what he will do with the Browns! For full disclosure, Ferentz has made a habit out of taking the Cyclones lunch money every year. So please.....make Ferentz the next Brown head coach.

not sure how I feel about that. 9-7 sounds pretty good right now, but it sounds like that team combusted internally at the end of the season. And there's a lot of ..... personalities on the Browns to deal with.
I mean, this is a team where arguably their best player punched their franchise QB who had a broken hand at the time.

True, but you didn't have Brett "Interception Machine" Favre to help finish your team off. I think Mangini's a good hire- the Jets were foolish to cut him loose.

The main things that give me pause are A) they didn't bother to hire a GM yet, so they have to find a GM that doesn't mind not having a say in who their coach will be (since the announcement, the Eagle's Dan Heckertt pulled out of the running) and B) it didn't seem like anyone else was very interested in hiring Mangini. I just read that Mangini's brother-in-law in Cleveland Indians GM Mark Shapiro.
