So I'm going to be trying to get my hands on a new fantasy football game later this summer, with the intention of understanding it in time for next offseason. For those of you who are interested in the idea, there's a video game being developed. Obviously a video game is different than a board game, but it'll give you an idea of the spirit of gameplay.
This supposedly shines in league play- you have rosters, play a season, deal with player injuries/deaths, etc. It's supposed to be pretty fun if you've got a solid league to play it out in.
And one of the better parts of the trailer shows something called "fouling"- that's a legitimate strategy in game, though you run the risk of having players ejected in doing so.

That actually looks pretty interesting.

Of course it is- I want games where the fans riot in the stands, players knock each other down and then try to commit injury, and where the teams leave sweat, blood and bodies behind on the field. A good writeup of the board game is here.Sounds like the video game version is available for download in about a week and half. I want to see more reviews. I do intend to get a couple of sets of team miniatures and start painting.

I finally succumbed to temptation and purchased the board game. Should be here this weekend or Monday. So if any of you are interested (especially people who just moved into a condo with Dean Clark), let me know. Excited to teach new games, and this may help me get some sort of football in the dull midsummer doldrums.
