I'll say that Tim Duncan might be one of my favorite athletes all of a sudden. He's won 4 as the centerpiece for each one and been thoroughly dominant in all of them. And Spike Lee isn't making a "Tim Doin' Work" movie. People saying that this cements Kobe as one of the all time greats. Maybe it does, but I don't remember there being much hoopla when Tim & Tony absolutely crushed the Cavs in 2007.

Welcome to the Spurs fans world. Duncan is one of those players who, when he retires, everybody will say "gee, he was good. We should have paid more attention to him when he was here".

You're absolutely right. He's probably one of the 10 best players ever. And the consummate professional. While the commentators are knob-slobbering over Kobe, you'd almost forget he's one of the whiniest players out there and by most accounts a terrible teammate. And you know when Kobe retires ESPN will devote an entire month to Kobe-related programming. And Tim Duncan, despite being better in almost every facet of the game will get a minute and a half on PTI.
Duncan, I salute you.

Do you think this Lakers team could have beaten ANY other NBA championship team?

No. Not at all. Easily the worst finals championship in a decade. They basically just waited for other teams to self-destruct.
