Last night is exhibit #1AAA.
I know Brady's won more super bowls and all and that's great, but if you watched last night's game, you'd understand just why Peyton is who he is. The numbers don't even really tell the whole story. The numbers don't tell you how he was able to read the defense, audible properly and make the correct throw - which were always on target.
I don't think there is another QB in football that would have won that game last night. With as few chances as Indy got, the Colts had to make good on just about all of them. And they did. And it was because Manning knew exactly what to do on each play.
It's been a while since we've had a good ol' Brady vs. Manning argument. Thanks to some guady fantasy numbers the past few years (but no Super Bowls - hmmm... wasn't that Manning's big detraction for a while?) I think people just assumed Brady slid into that spot. But Brady, as good as he is, would not have dissected Miami's defense with such pinpoint precision. Manning didn't just put up good numbers, he totally knocked out Miami's defense by constantly changing the play. It's like having a great QB and a great offensive coordinator on the field at the same time. That's what sets him apart.

I don't know that I'll say best ever, but his audible at the end when he saw the blitz that resulted in a TD was fantastic.

I don't know that I'll say best ever, but his audible at the end when he saw the blitz that resulted in a TD was fantastic. I know exactly the play you're talking about. He does that all game long. He's done that his whole career. "Best ever" might seem a little strong. But if I were to start a franchise from scratch and I had the first pick of anyone who ever played the game of football, and got to have them their entire career, I'd choose Manning. (side note: that would be a fun offseason project)

He's the best QB ever because of Dallas Clark and his 183 yards receiving on Monday night! What?! I get online after missing the final results of that game and didn't expect to see that!

Or Dallas. Or Drew.

I think the bigger issue is certainly being overlooked as to why Peyton Manning is the best QB.
Because he certainly helped me beat Chad, I can't even beleive I was about to lose to him, but only because of Marion Barber he had a slimmer of hope, well needless to say that Peyton triumphed for his and my team. And I say thank you Peyton for a job well done.

Just thought I'd bump this up since that may have been the best I've ever seen a QB play.
Manning is so freaking good.

after watching what brady could(n't) do without welker and what manning did all year with collie and garcon, i'm definitely in the manning is the greatest camp

I'd say he's the Lebron James of football.
