I don't buy the current thread of vitriol directed at the Cardinals: people discounting them/this season etc.
I read this article yesterday and Bill Simmons has been talking it up too like "OH MY GOD, WE CAN'T HAVE THIS HAPPEN!!! HEAVEN FORBID THE PLAYOFFS BE UNPREDICTABLE!!!"
I say go Cards. If they win on Sunday, they will have beaten Atlanta, a good Carolina team, a good Eagles team, and a great Steelers team.
In actuality, if the Steelers win, they will have beaten an 8-8 Chargers squad, a 6 seed with a Rookie QB and the Cardinals. If you ask me, the Cardinals will have proved themselves more if they win on Sunday than the Steelers will have.

I'm in complete agreement with you. I think the Cardinals being there is a positive thing for the NFL.

while i think the eagles were a very good team, you can't call them a good team and then simply refer to the ravens as a #6 seed...... both had the same seed and were good enough to win two playoff games.
that said, i do agree with your assessment. (though the chargers were a pretty good 8-8 team...one of the hottest teams in the league at the end of the year)

Yeah, I'm not trying to discount the Steelers road to the Super Bowl, just the opposite, that people need to give it a rest with the whole "DEATH TO THE NFL IF THE CARDINALS WIN" angle. Just realized I forgot to link the article I was referring to: www.slate.com/id/2209525/
