I have drafted a running back in the first round every year, until this year. Worked out nicely for me.

Because you can draft Aaron Rogers in the 3rd round.
And Tony Romo in the 5th.

You can draft Aaron Rodgers in the 3rd round...
....and then lose in the playoffs.
If that's what you want, then go ahead, draft RBs in round 1.

Wait, can I edit that? I meant "get destroyed in the playoffs."

That was definitely unfortunate that it turned out that way.
Meanwhile, Aaron Rogers scored 51 points this week. Brees and Favre COMBINED for 25. Hey whaddya know, I didn't even set my lineup and we scored the same this week!

Nice. And somehow I still beat Turf Toe this week! I love it. (but I'm currently hating the person who had the brilliant idea of doing a two week championship...).

Also, I didn't draft a RB in the first round, but I still ended up with four RBs in the top 11!

My first draft pick ever was Daunte Culpepper and I almost won the toilet bowl. Since then I've been gun shy about trying it again.
Chad, coincidentally, then gave me this nugget of advice for future drafts: "Mark, always, always, draft running backs first. That's how you win Championships!".

I would have agreed every year before this one.

Warrants mentioning that 3/4 of the playoff teams drafted a RB in the first round.
Although it also probably warrants mentioning that 1 of those running backs didn't start. And another was totally ineffective.

Oh and how's that RB-vs-WR at the flex debate going? Ask Jonathan Stewart owners this year.
