A move like this should have been made a decade ago.
Now Randy Lerner can go enjoy his soccer team in England and leave the tinkering to someone who actually knows a thing or two about football.
Holmgren can now bring in a GM, bring in a coach, bring in scouts, and bring in players from the top down, not from the bottom up.

Move Cribbs to QB?

Might as well.
Nah, we'll give DA another go ahead. This way, this Sunday's game against Oakland has the potential of a Anderson-Frye rematch. It's like the Christmas Day Kobe-Lebron-Shaq matchup, except a billion times worse.

Wow! Outstanding move. Although I am a die hard Viking fan there are a couple of AFC teams I like to see do well, Chiefs and the Browns. It baffles my mind when owners have the option to get a proven winner and yet pass on that to take a chance on an unproven talent hoping to catch lightning in a bottle.
After watching the Brown v. Chief highlites I think you are a QB away from being a playoff contender, but it was the Chiefs.
Was Brian "Mr. Concussion"Sipe the last excellent Cleveland QB.

Was Brian "Mr. Concussion"Sipe the last excellent Cleveland QB. Bernie Kosar came after Sipe, but they're close. But it is kind of scary that the best Browns QBs since, say, 1980 go like this: 1) Kosar 2) Brian Sipe 3) .... um .... Tim Couch?

I've always thought he should have at least two years, so long as there's a solid GM in place. But it's up to the walrus now.
Ending the season on a 4 game winning streak should probably assure his return, for better or worse, and they have a chance against Jacksonville at home next week.

Holmgren is apparently talking to Philly GM Tom Heckert for the Cleveland GM job. As considered last year, but Heckert flat out refused to be the GM of a team that already had their coach in place - or at least, Mangini in place.
Doesn't sound good for Mangini.

Yeah I agree. I'm totally on his side, but he and his agent need to take a chill pill. Priority one is getting a GM in place.

=============================
It's actually not quite as good as it was in my mind, but I imagine it's better than most of the teams in the league. Also, it appears that his drafts got better as time went on, particularly 2008-2009. It certainly helps that he already had a franchise QB in place.
