Seems like teams were willing to give him the Earth and the Moon last year (KC and Cleveland could have gone into an epic bidding war) had he decided to return to coaching. Now it looks like he wants to return, but there aren't a lot of takers. And I'm not sure if people will be still looking at him as a franchise saver (savior?) in 2011.

Who's going to open up next year? Chicago might be interesting if Smith gets fired. Fox may leave Carolina. Maybe the Rams and Lions fire their coaches after year two, but are those really attractive jobs for Cower? If Mangini lasts another year and then gets fired, maybe the Browns. But would he work for Holmgren?
It seems to me his best bet would have been if Lovie got fired. Chicago seems like a good fit for him.

That's the thing about the Holmgren hiring. If he fires Mangini, who's he going to replace him with, that's going to be willing to be an "underling?" Cowher definitely will want all sorts of player-personnel power (rightfully so).
I agree that Chicago seems like a good fit. Maybe Carolina too. But that's assuming both of those jobs are open in 2011. And again, the longer he's out of football, the more he loses his luster as a coach - just see Marty Schottenheimer.

He might be waiting to see what happens to Wade Phillips. I don't know if he would work for Jones (Parcells didn't mind) but if he would you'd have to think Jerry would approach him.
Well, you hope Jerry would approach him. And not Miles or Stoops.
