Maybe this doesn't deserve it's own thread because EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED TO LEBRON JAMES, but there are quite a few other free agents in the NBA....
..... like Drew Gooden who signed a $30 million contract for 5 years with Milwaukee.

I'm curious what it means that RJ opted out of his contract with the Spurs. I've read good and bad on it. Consensus is he has a deal worked out with Buford but who knows. Our cap took a hit with him opting out.

I'm also enjoying watching Simmons and others kill Minnesota for their moves the past few days.

Well, I sort of half-heartedly defended Kahn for the Flynn-Rubio pick, but I can't say I stand by Darko. Yeesh.

@chadfordinsider That's big RT @iraheatbeat Potentially staggering news, D Wade is meeting again tonight with Bulls, likely in the presence of his agent

Which team will be worse next year: The Knicks or the Heat? I think both might go 0-80-2. The -2 clearly coming from the two times they play each other and the NBA institutes a tie rule.

As far as RJ goes, Spurs lose his expiring contract for next year. That's not a good thing. On the other hand, he won't be sucking the life out of the team anymore, so that has to be a positive.

Apparently Joe Johnson hasn't yet accepted Atlanta's deal.

Wade and Bosh were both in the meeting tonight with Chicago. That has to be a good sign for Chicago.

Stoudemire officially to Knicks. So the Knicks are now, what? A 30 win team? Or is that too many?

That's about right. They'll beat the Nets and Hornets of the world more regularly than they have been, but still get rolled by any decent team.

So it looks like Wade+Bosh in Miami.
That's a Miami team with Wade, Bosh, Chalmers, Beasley, and nothing else. 6 seed? 5 seed?
Tentative EC power rankings - assuming LBJ stays: 1) Orlando 2) Cleveland 3) Atlanta 4) Boston 5) Milwaukee 6-8) Knicks, Nets (if they get someone), Bulls, Heat, Pistons?
And does anyone look like more of a git than Chris Bosh right now?

If Orlando dumps Carter and takes on someone else, anyone else, they're a SOLID number one.

Boozer to Chicago. This all but guarantees Lebron to Cleveland, right?
