A quick note before we start this week regarding the flex position. Only two teams are starting a RB in the flex spot this week. Some teams have even taken to starting two TEs over a third RB.
Waco @ Humus (-32.7)
After a heart-rending tie last week at least there's no fear of going 0-16. Here's the thing though, much like the NFL, no team is running away with the Top division. I'm not saying that Waco is making the playoffs or anything, but even after their abysmal start, they're only 2.5 games back. A win last week would have helped immensely, but knocking off the Humus would help even more.
It's going to be a tricky week for the Humus with a couple key weapons on bye (D.Williams and S. Smith). So that always helps to even things up with the bottom feeding Mandalors. Speaking of whom, the lineup tinkering continues, with Roethlisberger making his fantasy football return and newcomers Mikes Sims-Walker and Crabtree cracking the lineup in favorable matchups. As is my wont, I'll take the points once they creep past 30, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the Mandalors might just take this one.
Turf Toe @ Stradlebuck (-12.4)
By tying last week, Turf Toe missed a chance climb to the top of the Top division. Meanwhile Stradlebuck is reeling right now but again, with such a mediocre division, they are only 1 game back.
To get a handle on Stradlebuck's scoring problems, look no further than Drew Brees who has been merely adequate and not game-changing thus far this season. I think that trend breaks this week with Brees at the division leading Bucs. (Side note: Tampa Bay should have to relinquish all their sports teams from now until forever. I guess they can keep the Lightning, but whatever.)
On the other side of the ball, Tom Brady against the Ravens? Don't like. Stradlebuck to win outright.
Finkle @ Apocalypse Now (-33.3)
We are living in a world where Kyle Orton is a top 3 fantasy QB. As for this matchup, good Lord is Finkle terrible. Despite beating them, they've scored 30 fewer points than the Mandalors. You'll note that I said something about taking the points as they creep past 30. But Finkle is the exception to that rule. I'll take Apocalypse.
TMTTTTB @ grubbers (-15.0)
3-2 would be good enough to be tied for first in the Top division, but in the Bottom Feeders, with that point total, TMTTTB is fighting off last place. Of course, a win over the division leading grubbers would remedy that quickly. I'll take the grubbers to win and cover and here's why: Pittsburgh defense at home against a rookie Colt McCoy. I think there's an outside shot that the Steelers might be the highest scoring fantasy player in this matchup this week. It also doesn't hurt that the grubbers also have Mendenhall against the Browns and K Jeff Reed as well. In a related story, I like Pittsburgh to win this week.
Trogdor @ Long Beach (-2.7)
This looks like an even matchup and the line reflects that. In games like this it all comes down to who wants it more. And who has three starters playing the Lions. Long Beach.
