Lots of injuries around the league this week. It makes me wonder if an 18 game schedule is such a good idea. And if banning performance enhancing drugs is such a bad idea. All everyone can think about Favre now is his cell-phone related youthful exuberance, but let's also remember his painkiller problem. Maybe we squashed that one too quickly?
===============================
H's @ Long Beach (-24.0)
Since Carolyn hasn't bothered to submit a starting lineup, I'm not going to bother submitting an interesting, in-depth analysis of this matchup. Instead, I'll take the points and run. H's to cover. Assuming they submit a starting lineup.

Turf Toe (-23.6) @ Finkle
Finkle comes to town at just the right time for TT. After tying the lowly Mandalors and losing last week, they are in danger of falling into last place this week. Of course, in such a tight division they're only 1.5 games back as well.
It's tough to know what to think of this line with Antonio Gates listed as "questionable." Moreover it appears to actually be in question whether he'll play or not. Even still, it's Finkle. I'm not sure they've been within 20 points of anyone the whole year, Mandalor victory aside. I'll pick Turf Toe to cover.

Waco @ Grubbi (-23.7)
The Mandalors have had a bit of bye week luck lately and this week is no exception. Grubbi will be without the talents of Jahvid Best and Calvin Johnson. The saving grace is a wonderful matchup of Frank Gore against the terrible Panthers; and Malcom Floyd is doubtful. But then again, the Panthers have had a couple weeks to prepare. This looks like another sneaky upset for Waco. God help us if Waco makes itself relevant in the division again. Still, I like Waco to keep it close and cover those points.
========================
Stradlebuck (-2.9) @ Trogdor
This is another tough matchup to prognose with Manning being on bye and Shaun Hill being out with injury for Trogdor. The good news for Trogdor is that there are some decent QBs with decent matchups on the waiver wire. So let's assume he starts a real-live QB this weekend. I actually like Trogdor this week. There's some nice WR matchups for Grant, but this is more of a gut call. I don't usually go with my gut: after all, I'm a vegetarian and my gut is mostly filled with tempeh and wheat germ, but I'll pick Trogdor, even though he hasn't submitted a starting lineup or has a starting QB on his roster. Sounds like a recipe for success.

Apocalypse Now (-6.1) @ TMTTTTB
Lotta Saints starting against the Browns this week in this matchup. I can't imagine why. But in that case it could come down to who Drew Brees likes better this week: Colston or Meachem. Then again, AN has a trio of beutiful RB matchups with newly arrived Chris Ivory against the Browns, S-Jax against Tampa, and Marshawn Lynch against the Cardinals at home. Chad is starting someone named Buster Davis. I'll take Apocalypse to cruise.
Last week: 5-0. My first perfect week!
Season: 22-8
