I'm spending two hours a day on Real Cavs. I think most on there have already disowned Lebron just so their heads don't explode if he leaves. The anxiety on there is mesmerizing.

Ok, now shaw's out and it's Byron Scott.
This is getting exhausting.

I don't know about you, but I love the prospect of Prokorov and the Nets going out of their way to tweak the NY Knicks. See today's NYpost.com for an example.

I prefer to think of it this way:
Say LBJ does resign with the Cavs. Think of what HE will have effectively done to the rest of the Eastern Conference. The Bulls, Knicks, Heat, and Nets will have effectively been removed from contention indefinitely since they torpedoed their entire rosters to get him. Miami has two, TWO players under contract: Mario Chalmers and Michael Beasley. They could resign Wade and Stoudamire and they still will struggle to get 42 wins. The entire EC will look like a demilitarized zone after this offseason if he returns to the Cavs.

Agree. Hopefully Gilbert will be smart enough to point that out to him.

Thoughts on Scott?

Not really. I actually don't know a ton about him other than his teams' records while he was there. You?

Both teams he coached revolted against him. I know CP3 liked him, but there was mutiny among other players on Nets and Hornets. Kidd loathed him. You figured something was up after taking NJ to the finals two straight years and getting fired halfway through the next.
He was best available, I guess.

Cleveland likes their mutiny-inducing coaches.

Don't ever listen to my opinion on anything NBA related ever again. I had forgotten that he had already taken a lot of money to go from the Suns to the Hawks, as Lebatard pointed out in that summit.

Well, in your defense, I don't think anyone expected the Hawks to sign him to a Bird-rights max deal.
In a weird way, I think this move is actually defensible, contrary to every report you read. As I've mentioned, there is probably going to be a pretty big power vacuum in 2010-2011. With the Celtics and possibly both Orlando and the Cavs being weaker, they probably have an outside shot of winning the East next year. The Hawks will be bringing back a pretty decent core. Maybe with some decent coaching they could very much sneak in to the ECF.
Obviously by the time this deal is over, Johnson will be a huge millstone, but they'll be under different ownership by then anyway.
Let's put it this way, let's say LBJ signs with the Knicks or Nets. If the Hawks were a 3 seed last year behind the Magic and Cavs, what seed would they be next year, considering they're losing none of their key players?

True, but all those key players did everything in their power to give the series to Milwaukee, only the Bucks were too injured to take it. I'm not sure that's a championship core.

I sent that Joe Johnson argument to The Basketball Jones via email, who's doing live stream on Ustream and they just read my email on "air." I'm not sure I believe it - I have no response to your Milwaukee points - but if I'm making an Eastern Conference power rankings if LeBron leaves, it will go:
1) Orlando 2) Atlanta 3) LeBron's team
